How long do I have to complete the ACCA qualification?
The ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification has specific
time limits that candidates must adhere to. Here are some key points regarding the
duration to complete the ACCA qualification:
- Seven-Year Rule for Strategic Professional Exams: Once you pass your
first Strategic Professional exam, you have seven years to complete all the
remaining Strategic Professional exams. If you do not complete them within this
timeframe, any passes achieved beyond seven years will expire and must be
retaken to complete the qualification. - Time Limits for Legacy Students: If your first eligible exam session was
December 2015 or earlier, you were given a ten-year time limit to complete the
ACCA qualification. After this period, any results older than seven years will expire.

- Completion of Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills Exams: There is no
expiry date for the exams at the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills levels. These
must be completed as part of the qualification but do not have a specific time limit - Average Time to Complete ACCA: On average, it takes two to three years to
complete all the exams, depending on the number of exemptions you have and how
intensively you study. Some students may take longer, especially if they balance
studies with. - Practical Experience Requirement (PER): In addition to passing the exams,
you must complete 36 months of relevant practical experience and achieve nine
performance objectives. This requirement is flexible and can be completed while you
are studying or after finishing your exams.
